Welcome to Spain's premier art museum. Standing alongside the likes of the Louvre, the Vatican Museums, and the Met, the Prado Museum in central Madrid is home to some of the most iconic artworks in human history.

Marvel at art from Spanish masters like Velázquez and Goya, and international stars like Titian, Rembrandt, El Greco, Rubens, and Bosch. Use these nifty Prado Museum tickets to explore the permanent and temporary exhibitions to your art's content!

There are more than 7,000 paintings in the Prado's collection (although only around 1,500 are on display at any given time). Each offers a penetrating look at the celebrated history of European art and history.

The collection includes a large number of paintings by Spanish Golden Age golden boy, Velázquez. It also has an overview of the somber, sometimes darkly psychological, works of Goya who is widely considered to be the most important Spanish artist of his era.

It's not all Spanish art, though – the Prado has works by a number of Flemish masters too. Rubens, Bruegel, and Van Dyck are all well represented here. The collection also includes Hieronymus Bosch's remarkable Garden of Earthly Delights, easily the world's best-known triptych.

No visit to Madrid is complete without a visit to the Prado, so get your hands on Prado Museum tickets now and avoid those long lines!

Insider tip

Go in the morning for more chance of peace and quiet. The museum is worth an extended visit, so plan to grab lunch at the excellent Café Prado, then carry on exploring the exhibits. Convenient and delicious.
