At the 128th Session of the International Olympic Committee, held on 31 July 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Chinese candidacy was chosen as Olympic and Paralympic host. With this election, Beijing becomes the first city in history to host the Summer and Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games.
