La obra de Benet Rossell (Àger, 1937 – Barcelona, 2016) es imprescindible para construir el relato del arte catalán de la segunda mitad del siglo XX.
Poeta, cineasta y creador plástico, Rossell fue uno de los protagonistas de la emergencia de las prácticas conceptuales y la performance. Conviviendo con su obra cinematográfica experimental, el artista manifestó un interés particular por el dibujo, revistiendo el oficio de ninotaire con el mismo espíritu de vanguardia de Paul Klee o Saul Steinberg. Fusionó el dibujo con la caligrafía, a veces miniaturizado (micrografías para mirar con lupa), y le llevó, finalmente, a los dominios de la pintura. Central y marginal al mismo tiempo, con su radicalidad y su sensibilidad, Benet Rossell establece puntos de confluencia entre el arte conceptual y el arte más lírico y plástico.
