A unique and historic exhibit is coming to the Society of Illustrators featuring the work of several Black sequential artists from all over the comic book spectrum. The exhibit is curated by culture journalist and writer Karama Horne (Marvel’s Protectors of Wakanda), and Award-Winning artist Shawn Martinbrough (Thief of Thieves, Red Hood) whose work will also be featured.

After quietly working in the industry for years without receiving much recognition, “The Artist’s Experience: from Brotherman to Batman” on display from June 15, 2022 to Oct 29, 2022 at the Society of Illustrators hopes to change that and showcase the style, talent, and cultural significance of Black art in the world of comics.
