Combining illustration and scrapbooking, Krug draws the viewer into an authentic mode of storytelling of both her own life and the gripping historical account of others.
Krug's drawings and visual narratives have appeared in publications internationally, including her visual memoir Belonging: A German Reckons with History and Home and her collaboration with historian Timothy Snyder in a graphic edition of On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century – both of which are critically-acclaimed.
