K-9 Courage is a temporary exhibition honoring the hundreds of dogs that took part in the response to the 9/11 attacks. K-9 Courage is a temporary exhibition honoring the hundreds of dogs that took part in the response to the 9/11 attacks. Working in tandem with their handlers, these response animals searched through the wreckage of the towers for survivors and left a lasting impression on the world, brightening up one of the darkest moments in recent history.
Ten years after the attacks, photographer Charlotte Dumas wanted to document the fate of the 9/11 dogs and began a search to find these four-legged heroes across the US. K-9 Courage presents Dumas' portraits and tells their stories post-9/11.
The exhibition will also detail more stories of working dogs and disaster response veterinary teams, along with a number of artifacts.

Combine The 9/11 Memorial & Museum with other New York favorites. Some things are better together.
Architects Michael Arad and Peter Walker designed the 9/11 Memorial. Their proposal, called Reflecting Absence, consists of two reflecting pools that sit in the footprints of the South and North Towers. They're fed by waterfalls (the largest manmade waterfalls in the United States) and surrounded by a forest of nearly 400 trees.
The accompanying 9/11 Museum has an exhibition divided into three sections, the Day of 9/11, Before 9/11, and After 9/11. It uses artifacts, photos, and an extensively researched and well laid out collection to show how the events of 9/11 changed the world.
