Discover the history of Notre-Dame in 2022 through this detailed exhibition at the Cité. Casts of monumental sculpture and models retrace the life of this world-famous cathedral from its construction in the 12th century until the beginning of the 19th century.
A focus dedicated to the spire of Notre-Dame, designed and built by the architect-restorer Eugène Viollet-le-Duc and the sculptor Adolphe Geoffroy-Dechaume, allows you to go behind the scenes of this exceptional monument.
Exceptionally, the Cité displays original artifacts related to the spire of Notre-Dame de Paris, including the rooster of the spire, found in the rubble the day after the Cathedral fire of 2019. This exhibition will also delve into the restoration of the cathedral, offering visitors a progress report of the ongoing work.
