Vietnamese artist Dinh Q. Lê has built a complex body of work since the 1990s, using various techniques including photography. However, Dinh Q. Lê is not a photographer. For him the image is a material to question, to cut out, to transform.

Using techniques inspired by memories of his aunt weaving rugs, Dinh Q. Lê produces hybrid images by stitching together various photographs. These new photos address topics such as genocide in Cambodia, the story of Migrants crossing the Mediterranean, and more.

Suspended on a series of pillars, the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac features a vertical garden on the Seine side and enormous multicolored blocks on another. And once inside the grounds, the horizontal garden is full of birds and plants, walkways and paths.

Inside the museum, it's an anthropological journey around the world via art and artifacts. The permanent collection reaches back as far as the Neolithic period, and spans Oceania, Asia, Africa and the America.
