Dresden Castle is one of the oldest buildings in Dresden, Germany. It is best known for its different architectural styles, spanning from Baroque to Neo-Renaissance. Today, the residential castle houses a museum complex that contains the Historic and New Green Vault, the Numismatic Cabinet, the Collection of Prints, Drawings and Photographs, and the Dresden Armory. It's a great place to visit for a German history fix.

The Dresden Frauenkirche is a Lutheran church that was destroyed during WWII and consequently rebuilt. It is located in the city's old town, south of the River Elbe and five minutes' walk from Dresden Castle.

The Semperoper is an opera house located in Dresden, Germany. Originally opened in 1841, the building has been reconstructed on two occasions: once due to a fire in 1869, and once as a result of the bombing of Dresden during World War II.
