Viterbo Sotterranea is a labyrinth of underground passageways and caves under the city of Viterbo. It is believed to date as far back as the Etruscan era (900 BCE - 100 BCE). The tunnels were expanded during the medieval period and were used for covert travel and strategic movement around the city.

The Palace of the Popes in Viterbo, home of the first and longest conclave in history, the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the adjoining Museum of the Hill and the medieval quarter of San Pellegrino.
