Taketomi attractions

The mangroves, coral reefs, and turquoise waters surrounding Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park are far-flung in their differences from Tokyo, but you'll be glad you spent some time in this little paradise in southern Japan's Yaeyama Islands. Spend the day paddling down the Kura River to arrive at the 'lucky' waterfall, then head over to the remote Barras Island and swim among tropical fish with your snorkel on.
