Gala Dalí Castle

From the outside, it's a stunning 11th-century castle. On the inside, however, Gala Dalí Castle is a time capsule of art history. A gift from Salvador Dalí to his wife and muse, Gala, the castle is where Gala lived out her twilight years. From the taxidermied horse that first appears as you peer through a glass-bottomed coffee table, to Gala's crypt in the cellar, Gala Dalí Castle is surreal, grotesque, and strangely beautiful all at once.

Dalí Theatre-Museum: Skip The Line Ticket

The interior of this outlandish structure lays out the visual progression of Dalí's work, from a young artist working against institutional standards, to his emergence as the father of Surrealism. See a range of his awe-inspiring work, from sculptures to paintings, installations, and some of his most recognizable pieces.

Salvador Dalí House-Museum

Soak up surreal views of the Portlligat bay from Dalí's former house and studio. With no window the same shape, blind passageways, and a lamp you won't find anywhere else, the Dalí House takes you directly into the mind of the artist. It's as beautiful and bizarre as you might expect. Find out how Dalí expanded what was originally a few fishermen's huts into a personal masterpiece, and ponder the famous sculptures that adorn the villa, including the giant egg and a pair of huge heads.

Must sees in Figueres

'I want my museum to be a single block, a labyrinth, a great surrealist object. It will be a totally theatrical museum. The people who come to see it will leave with the sensation of having had a theatrical dream.' Dalí got his wish. The Dalí Theatre-Museum – under which the artist himself lies buried – is one of the most surreal and theatrical museums in the world. This unique museum, decorated with giant eggs and fantastical figures, features the largest collection of works by Salvador Dalí, including exclusive items from his personal collection.
