Galiana Palace
The Galiana Palace is located on the banks of the Tagus and has breathtaking views of Toledo. This beautiful Mudéjar palace was built in the 11th century by King Al Mamun. Galiana passed from one king to another until the 14th century. In the second half of the 19th century, the Empress Eugénie de Montijo, wife of Napoleon III, was the owner of the palace. In 1959 the palace was sold to Alejandro Fernández de Araoz and his wife Carmen Marañón. Today Galiana is magnificently restored and consists of a rectangular floor plan divided into nine vaulted rooms, a sunken courtyard and a pond that reflects the magnificent architecture and wonderful gardens.

Built upon the foundation of an old mosque, Iglesia Santo Tomé dates back to the 12th century and is a historical cornerstone of Toledo, Spain. While the church itself has undergone several rounds of renovations over the centuries – including converting a minaret into a bell tower – its real claim to fame is The Burial of the Count of Orgaz by Spanish Renaissance artist El Greco.
