Ellon Castle Gardens
Calling all fans of Scottish history! There's much to see at Ellon Castle Gardens, dating back all the way to 1715. The walled garden was hidden from resident locals in the Scottish town of Ellon near Aberdeen for years.
Look for the red squirrels and many species of birds, and stand in the shadows of the Fortalice of Ardgith, built in 1514. Sit on a bench with a book, meet the volunteers who are ready to tell their stories, and admire the row of ancient English yews, which are at least 500 years old – maybe even older.
