The world is a playground

The home of all things Disney is so much more than that! Boasting one of the world’s highest concentrations of theme parks, the City Beautiful is the ideal destination for families, pop culture fans, sports aficionados and anyone seeking a little magic in their vacation. With 72 million tourists a year, a very pleasant average temperature and sunny skies year-round, Orlando is a joy to visit. And it's not all theme parks either. There are attractions for every interest: from Sea World to shopping malls, wildlife parks to Nascar driving, and NBA basketball games to gator-spotting boat tours!

Getting around

You may have heard the expression “fortune favors the brave”, but you may not have heard its less-popular cousin: “American infrastructure favors four wheels.” Which is our tongue-in-cheek way of telling you that Orlando is a city where having your own car (or hiring one) is the easiest and fastest way to get around. Taxis are ubiquitous and ride-sharing services are abundant, but for those who prefer to take public transit, there are options available. The LYNX bus service offers over 60 bus lines at an affordable rate and the LYMMO bus is a free, disability-friendly service that circumnavigates the city during key times.

Climate

For those accustomed to relative consistency between the four seasons, Florida’s climate can be a little unpredictable. Due to school holidays, summer is always Orlando’s busiest time, but the days are extremely hot, humid and prone to more than the occasional tropical thunderstorm. Spring and fall are best to visit, promising good weather and low humidity. The unsung hero is winter. Though not exactly t-shirt weather, it's warm enough to provide you with a pleasant reprieve from ‘real winter’ in so many other parts of the world. Best of all: the queues for most attractions will be way shorter.

What to do in Orlando for 3 days

Airboat through the Everglades

The Everglades are the perfect place to get close and personal with nature… but, given the kind of nature we’re talking about, it’s smart not to get too close!

These unspoiled natural wetlands are home to some of nature’s most stunning animals, including bobcats, snapping turtles, newts, eagles and the almighty alligator. Your expert guide will zip you across the wetlands, spotting those creatures in their natural habitat.

Catch a pro basketball game

There’s a reason even people who don’t know much about basketball know the name Orlando Magic: they have a reputation for conjuring up some of the greatest basketball players of all time.

Though legends such as Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway are no longer gracing the courts of Amway Center, they’ve set a precedent for excellence that continues to this day. Catch a game in the team’s home stadium today and see if you can spot the next rising superstar.

Race. Play. Eat.

Unlock your inner child at I-Drive Nascar, where go-kart engineering has reached a whole ‘nother level since the last time you sat in one. Tear around the track with your friends, loved ones or random (but nevertheless serious) nemeses while re-enacting your favorite scenes from Star Wars, Mario Kart and/or Little Rascals.

Retire from the racing life by setting a new high score on I-Drive Nascar’s numerous arcade games, bowling alleys and pool tables. After all, there’s no reason you can’t be king or queen for a day in several kingdoms.

Land or sea, the Theme Park Multipass is your key

Save some serious cash at your favorite sites with the Theme Park Multipass. Covering admission to SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando and Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, the Theme Park Multipass gives you a taste of everything you could possibly want (or need) for your holiday.

Access the wonders of marine life, belly-slide down steep waterslides, make yourself dizzy on rollercoasters, ride directly through animal enclosures and round out the day with a relaxing bite to eat on a pristine white-sand beach.
